Stumbled on these amazing images while looking around. I found them truly aspirational. Truly beautiful and truly hip. The late 70's early 80's was a great time for beards and short shorts. Some of these looks can be seen right now walking around in hip havens such as Echo Park. This can be filed under: Quitting Your Job, Kicking Your Computer in its Face, Buying a Bunch of Outdoorsy Stuff at Rose Bowl, Growing a Beard, telling your girl friend to cut her jeans higher so that the pockets fall out of the bottoms and then hitting the road for a National Park. Lean Back: Way Back Pose
This is a great/new, very popular pose. Lean Back, way back. We've all seen the look down pose and I think this is most likely a reaction, a swing, away from that already over saturated pose. I like this pose because it's new and fresh for winter. Also, if it had a sound effect it might sound like "weeee!"

Freedom Porn: Weed + Girl Collabo
There has been some debate about this subject. But I am truly supportive, I stand behind and believe in this trend. Smoke some herb, be a girl, roll one up (a joint is much more alluring) and smoke one. It's fun for winter, it's cozy. Be on trend, light one up. Everybody's doing it: look.

It's Very Blurred: Emerging Trends
Normal face or blurred face? I have been asking myself this question a lot lately. Is It hip to have a face? Or is it hipper to not have a face? I opt for the latter. I believe that rocking no face is going to be a big trend for Spring 2010. You can see some great examples of this emerging look below. Notice the muted tones of flesh, hinting at something beneath. There is nothing beneath but something inside tells you "those might be eyes" and "Is that makeup?"

Trends In Gas Masks
Talk about very European. This is what happens when European fashionistas take on one another in full fledged combat. These different styles of mask are very cool, they make a statement, not sure what that statement is but perhaps it's commentary on the fucked up socio-political sitch right now. I don't think these would help you out in nuclear assault but anyhow I thought I would just leave you with a bit of style inspiration for the end of days. After all it is Monday.

Mark: Style Icon Regression/Evolution
Here is Mark. No doubt a style icon. It's rare that we can document the de-evolution of hip in such a preserved and comprehensive state. It's very hip to be Mark. It's interesting how as Mark ages he becomes less hip. I believe Mark, by no fault of his own, was hipper when he was younger. So perhaps it's very hip to be young? Anyways we Heart Mark very much. Here he is presented from Oldest (least hip) to Youngest (most hip.)

Too Much Muse.
Being a muse to someone, or having a muse is very french, and very hip. If you are very attractive, and very french, or hip, then it's possible for you to be a muse. Being attractive is hip too. Try it. Also, if you are hip try posing on top of a trash can (fourth down.) Trash Can pose is a very good way to get someone to muse you. Additionally, bright light shining from behind you is another way to let people know "I'm your new muse." Without the glow around you how would anyone know? Perhaps a little nudity might help.
